Once again, we were proud to celebrate our agricultural heritage and rich agricultural resources with this annual celebration. The Grain Elevator site was transformed into a farm and a playground.
Residents had fun testing their skills at egg whipping, cross saw, and sack races, that brought back memories of days gone past. There were several farm games, a vintage tractors display, old farm machinery, grain cleaning demo, hay rides for all ages, and "stooks" filled with surprises.
Visitors discovered the Grain Elevator history by taking the Memory Lane Tour. Their learn about the origins of the community, and researched family trees at the Spruce Grove Archives. They watched the Spruce Grove Beaver Scouts harvesting corn at our garden and checked the Farmers Market for fresh produce and craft.
Fresh country style pulled pork on a bun ($5) and a pickle on a stick ($1) were sold that day.
It was a great way to bring the Grain Elevator season to a close! All games & rides were for free! We had great prizes. Prizes were donated by the Peavey Mart, McDonald Restaurants & the Dairy Queen.
