Spruce Grove Grain Elevator Museum

Contrary to what the photos suggest, the Grain Elevator, Farmers Market and Archives are NOT closed! Visitors and customers are still able to come on to the property; simply follow the detour signs to get there.

We are excited that construction means the property will soon be hooked into city utilities, and with that will come the next step that we have long been dreaming; construction of the Grain Elevator Emporium. Volunteers are busy with events and promotions to raise funds for the project and community members are noticing the activitiy across the tracks.

Construction at the Elevator

Once again, we are pleased to announce our 'Take a Bite out of Alberta' Muffin Challenge. Our challenge this year is to create a recipe that uses ingredients which are only grown, manufactured or produced in Alberta. With a goal to focus on the rich agricultural productivity of the province, we envision this contest will not only raise awareness, but prove to be a lot of fun for talented bakers in the area.

Contest Rules
1. Registration Begins July 1st Registration closes: August 19th. Register on-line or in person.
2. You must be registered to win!
3. Ingredients must be either grown or produced in Alberta. One bonus ingredient will be allowed (non-Alberta grown or produced).
4. Additional bonus item: BARLEY FLOUR
5. Two dozen muffins, along with the recipe, must be brought to the Grain Elevator Site, between 10 AM and 12 Noon on Saturday August 15th for judging.
6. Suppliers of each ingredient MUST be listed on the submitted recipe.
